I worked in rhythm, skin, skin, brush, tear, strip, discard - skin, skin, brush, tear, strip, discard. My shoulders were hunched, my fingers deft as I worked away. Soon, I had all the meat on a hot rock sitting over a mini bonfire.
I clean the skin/fur, taking my time as I scrubbed at it with my hands and water, cleansing it of blood and dirt. I laid it out on the rock to bake and dry. With the meat sitting on the hot rock over the fire, I worked with hot hands as fire burned away the blood on them.
It was cool being an Elemental, I couldn't get burned by fire, I couldn't drown easily, I could easily find my way around the middle of a forest and use those resources there so I wouldn't die from starvation, and the wind didn't hurt me when I whipped by it.
I baked the meat with my bare hands, cooking each piece until tender and just right. My fire burned the meat. The smell intoxicating, my mouth salivating.
I created a clean large rock pallet so I could put all the meat on it. I walked through the rock once more, the large rock pallet in both hands as I emerged. I sat it down on the ground of the hut.
"If you want to try it out, don't be afraid to do so." I winked at Palila before ripping apart a piece with my hands and popping it into my mouth, moaning at the wonderful fresh taste of venison.
