(This is going to be a short little side story of Abbey getting started to where she is. I will probably add more later on.)
I stood at attention, my pale blue eyes surveying the massive deck of the Promethium, the High-Tech Ultra Carrier. The thick ship was made of two meters of titanium armor plating, armed with two Magnetic Accelerator Cannons, twenty six oversized Archer Missile Pods, three Shiva-Class Nuclear Missiles, and eight point defense turrets, this ship was made for war. I was standing in the middle of the inside of the deck. Holographic computer screens and keyboards were placed side-by-side throughout the Command Center. Communication Specialists and Defense Personal worked at the screens, their eyes glued to what they were seeing and working on. Orders were placed on each other as they hollered to whomever was around to carry out their need.
I marveled at how quickly the screens flashed as they threw their hands across the hovering lights, typing and clicking, bumping, and smoothing their hands over what they wanted. I smiled a wolfish grin and shook my head, pushing my shoulders back and looking straight forward through the large windows that encompassed the entire room on all the surrounding walls.
I felt a presence besides me, and I knew who it was before I even turned to look. I couldn't help the smile that lit my face as I turned.
"Nice to see you're acquainted with the Commanding Center, Commandant Grey." General Wright said smoothly, his facial expression was of a polite smirk. Right.
"Thank you for allowing me aboard the ship, General. Though I shall politely disincline to acquiesce your request on whether I shall be staying for an elongated trifle of time. My sincerest apologies, though I have other places to be."
The General smiled, "I can't just find myself another Commandant, Sir."
"You could, you're just not looking hard enough yet." I heard him sigh and saw him out of the corner of my eye shake his head in disappointment.
"Why won't you-"
"Sir!" One of the Personal in the room shouted to us. All of a sudden, alarms starting blaring all over the room, the computers all went red with flashing warning, sounds of shouting sounded throughout the room as chaos's uprising had begun. I felt my spine go ram-rod straight, my muscles bunched and readied themselves.
"Report!" I snapped. One of the Personal ran up to me, his eyes were wide in his face as he heaved breaths of air while trying to speak.
"Sir, We're picking up a strange congregation. As of now, our systems are being tampered with, we just went from one hundred percent power to ten. Target systems are being overloaded and our radars are going haywire, we're picking up strange readings of hundreds of blimps all centered and gunning for us."
I cursed underneath my breath. The General turned to me, his face was grave as his voice was thick with determination, "Orders, Sir?"
I gritted my teeth, all eyes were focused on me, "All Personal deploy gunners to Sectors A, B, and D. Sectors C, E, F, Commence Firing Sequences to that of the surrounding areas if you see any movement from North, South, East, and West of the Promethium. We need some eyes in the skies, deploy eight F-22 Raptor Jets. I need some intel underneath us, Radio the Sub. and get me details. I want to know if there is anything coming for us under the water. Let's go!"
The alarms starting blaring around us as someone pulled the plug. It was loud and beat my eardrums harshly. Red lights flashed, and ship seemed to rock with startled movement as many bodies started moving all across the ship. Orders were shouted through the communications. We sent an emergency signal out to any of our allied ships near us. "Initiate auxiliary drive systems test, now! Where are we standing with this fight?!" I snapped to anyone nearby.
A girl from the front piped up from behind her screen, the red lights played darkly over her paled face, "Sir! Our systems are crashing! We have technical difficulties, something's not right, something is in the sh-!"
A loud crash sounded from behind me, the ship started to rock as the explosion threw open the doors behind me. I ducked down, hitting the floor hard as fire and pieces of hot metal rained down on me. Screams filled the air a did moans of pain. The air seemed thick with smoke, and i grimaced in pain as the pieces of mortar cut through my clothes and burned my skin.
I turned in time to see General Wright fly in the air and hit one of the windows, his body smacking into the glass. "Wright!" I shouted as another explosion deep within the ship rocked me forward. My face hit the titanium of the floor and I snarled in rage.
All the lights in the ship suddenly went out, and blackness overcame the ship just as the screaming started.
